WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE?

To raise awareness to the fact that as of January 1,2010 people who work odd hours and ride the buses will lose thier transit services.

How will this affect the local economy?

It will have a negative effect of course, For Example:

1)many people will lose thier jobs

2)Small Businesses in Colorado Springs will see a reduction in profits, especially in the downtown area. I like to eat at the East Coast Deli, have a cup of coffee at Poor Richard's and ocassionally purchase my favorite music cd from Independent records. But as of January 1, 2010 I will no longer be able to do so.
How will people who work odd hours, and on weekends keep thier job?

Some may be fortunate enough to arrange for a ride to work, and others (like myself) will be taking the 2 hour walk to work, or hitchhike. Please click the video link below and imagine yourself in the situation you see.

Here is what the C.E.O. of the Colorado Springs economic development corporation had to say about the matter

Subject:   RE: Thank you mike for your reply concerning transit cuts From:   "Mike Kazmierski"  Date:   Sun, December 27, 2009
Ed Our community if fortunate to have citizen's like you that are willing to fight to retain the quality of life we all should be able to enjoy. I can tell you, as a non-profit that has to struggles to fund our job attraction and retention efforts, there is little out there in the way of private funding. That said, I applaud your efforts and agree that transit is an important part of any community and if you have a request or message you would like to send to the business community I would be glad to offer a spot on one of our executive updates that goes out to 2,000 businesses in the region. Season's Greetings to you. Mike
